The highly automated Hunkeler Starbook Plowfolder book solution allows for highly economical production of digitally printed books from Book of one. Format flexibility for every run length is assured by fully variable page count and variable book spine lengths from book-to-book and semi-automatic changeover of different folding patterns in less than 3 minutes. The optimized and improved Plowfolder PF8 and the new vacuum signature transport in the Book Delivery BD8 now extend the paper range down to 40gsm lightweight paper up to bulky book papers of 160gsm and 150µm thickness. Excellent book block quality with perfectly straight, square, and flat book blocks make it the ultimate solution for softcover and hardcover book manufacturing. Ease of operation, low maintenance, media flexibility, and the ability to deliver single book blocks at a rate of up to 2 000 deliveries (stacks or single books) per hour in perfect FIFO sequence (First In – First Out) makes it the star of the Hunkeler book solution portfolio.
